John Shegerian, Chairman and CEO of Electronic Recyclers International (ERI), the nation’s leading recycler of electronic waste, served as a moderator and discussion leader earlier today at the ATHGO (Alliance Toward Harnessing Global Opportunities) 4th Annual Global Innovation Forum at the World Bank headquarters in the nation’s capital.

The theme of this year’s event was “Climate Change and Constructive Entrepreneurship,” and Shegerian led and moderated the panel this morning on development, team building and network expansion in a rapidly changing world.

Working with an esteemed panel of leading environmental academics, scientists and technology leaders from all over the world, including Ivo Ivanovski, the Minister of Information for the Republic of Macedonia; William Saito, the Founder and CEO of Intecur; and Navneet Singh Narula, President and CEO of nBrilliance, Shegerian led a spirited discussion on the changing face of global communication and the sustainable innovations that effective entrepreneurship can foster.

“John Shegerian and his team at ERI are true champions for the environment,” said Armen Orujyan, PhD, ATHGO International’s Founder and President. “Going away from the conventional methodology, John acts today and speaks of the clean, healthy, and wasteless future. The broad variety of participants at our event this week need to meet and hear more people like John who are doing something now – and less of today’s rhetoric of future actions. The forum will benefit tremendously from the presence of such an innovative and environmentally friendly organization as ERI.”

ATHGO’s 4th Global Innovation Forum was designed to incite individual action and engagement in Climate Change affairs through entrepreneurship in a blended, organic and resource-rich, virtual environment. The event brings together 100 young people from around the world to facilitate candid outcome-oriented dialogue with corporate executives, diplomats, and area experts leading to development of business concepts that maximize financial as well as socio-economic and environmental returns.

“It’s a great honor to have been asked to help ATHGO lead the discussion on innovation and the way we can communicate on a global level alongside such a globally influential group,” said Shegerian. “I applaud ATHGO and its attempts to bring the elite minds of the world together to discuss these issues before our next generation of decision makers. It is in large part thanks to sustainable entrepreneurship and the innovations that come along with it that have made the ‘Green Revolution’ something that is here to stay – permanently. We are proud to be a part of this vital and game changing movement.”
