Fresno’s effort to recycle electronic materials has expanded to include household appliances.
Along with TV’s, computer monitors, and cell phones, people can now drop off their old refrigerators, air conditioners, and microwaves.
Fresno-based Electronic Recyclers International runs the program with Fresno State, taking in other people’s junk a few times every year.
The company takes most of the material for free and can make money by recycling it.
