Electronic Recyclers International (ERI), the nation’s leading recycler of electronic waste, announced today that Jesse D. Stallone has been named Vice President of Business Development and Sustainability. Stallone most recently served as Director of Sustainability Initiatives at Allied Waste Industries, responsible for the company’s sustainability and innovation business development initiatives.

“We are extremely proud and excited to be adding Jesse to our team here at ERI,” said John S. Shegerian, Chairman and CEO of ERI. “In our industry, this is the equivalent to adding Michael Phelps to an already successful swim team. Jesse’s track record and proven knowledge of sustainable development and environmental business practices are second to none. We are confident that his unique blend of skill sets in the green technology and waste management sectors will be among the many assets he brings to this working relationship.”

Prior to his work at Allied Waste Industries, Stallone served as the Business Process Improvement Manager of Waste Reduction Programs for Home Depot and as a Senior Manager responsible for efficient and effective branch operations at Terminix International. He served similar roles, helping develop sustainable business models at Xante Corporation and Severn Trent Systems. He started his career at Browning-Ferris Industries, where he developed, constructed, and operated landfills, transfer stations, recycle centers, composting and grinding facilities.

“I’m very excited to be joining the ERI team,” said Stallone. “Sustainability is innovation  —  and innovation means change. ERI is a company that provides individuals, organizations and businesses with the solutions that enable them to make changes in order to meet their sustainability goals. I look forward to being a part of that.”

Stallone received his Bachelor of Science degree in Agronomy and Soils from Auburn University and his MBA in International Business from Our Lady of the Lake University in Houston. He also has attended the Sustainable Business program from the University of Vermont.
