John S. Shegerian, Chairman and CEO of Electronic Recyclers International (ERI), the nation’s leading recycler of electronic waste, was featured as an in-studio guest on Sacramento-based KDEE-FM’s “Going Green Radio Show with EnviroBro,” hosted by Leonard E. Robinson, Federal Liaison to the California Environmental Protection Agency’s Department of Toxic Substances Control and the radio host known as “EnviroBro the hardest workin’ man in the environment.”

Robinson spoke with Shegerian about his ERI’s commitment to the environment, how the company recycles electronic waste in ways that protect both the environment and human rights, and how ERI recycles lives by giving second chance opportunities for employment to the formerly incarcerated.

Joining Shegerian on the show was his colleague, e-waste Recycling Specialist, Mandingo Cain, a man who led a life of hard times in and out of the justice system and is now a successful executive at ERI. Cain shared some inspiring words about his own experience.

“It’s been an honor and privilege to be a guest on this terrific and very forward thinking program,” said Shegerian. “Leonard Robinson and his team do such a good job getting to the bottom of the issues that affect our environment today – it was very insightful of them to dedicate a segment of their show to the electronic waste issue, and to how important it is to give people a chance to recycle their lives. I look forward to the discussion and interacting with the show’s audience.”
