Jim Puckett, Executive Director of the Basel Action Network (BAN), will team with John S. Shegerian, Chairman and CEO of Electronic Recyclers International (ERI), as co-hosts of a ReadyTalk Webinar titled “Electronic Waste and Human Rights” to take place live on Thursday, March 12th at 11:00 Pacific time.

The fastest growing waste sector in the world is electronic waste. The problem of shipping unwanted electronics illegally abroad is still rampant. As a result, underage and/or untrained workers there are often exposed to hazardous materials. This problem makes the responsible recycling of electronics more important than ever.

Shegerian of ERI, the nation’s leading recycler of electronic waste and a trailblazing green business, along with Puckett, founder of the Basel Action Network, a non-profit environmental watchdog organization that recently launched its “e-stewards” concept to help manage responsible handling and recycling of electronics, will co-present the discussion on electronic waste and human rights and where the two intersect.

The webinar will last one hour and is open to the general public. Anyone can register to join the Webinar’s audience by pasting the following URL into their browser: https://cc.readytalk.com/r/q2khlfrk0w8c
