John S. Shegerian, Chairman and CEO of Electronic Recyclers International (ERI), the nation’s leading recycler of electronic waste, has announced that his popular, Clear Channel-produced “Green is Good” radio show has expanded to a one-hour format and will now be broadcast on FM stations as well as AM.

The weekly interview program, co-hosted by Shegerian and radio veteran Mike Brady, was launched by Clear Channel last April and is already the #1 green-themed radio show in the country. The program is also available for free on iTunes as a podcast and was recently featured on the iTunes Store page as one of the recommended “New and Noteworthy” podcasts.

“More people are interested in today’s technology and efficient living than ever before,” said Jeff Negrete, a Market Manager with Clear Channel. “As John Shegerian hosts our Green is Good radio show, he communicates about these significant issues in an entertaining and educational way. Plus, the guests he secures on this show are second to none. For us, expanding the show to an hour was a no-brainer.”

Coming up in the next several episodes of Green is Good are spokespeople from New Leaf Paper, Peter Mondavi of Charles Krug Winery, Green Planet, SPG Solar and Lundberg Family Farms, sharing their companies’ green business practices. Mandy Mahoney, Director of Sustainability for the Atlanta State Governor’s Office, will also share her state’s green initiatives during an upcoming episode.

In each show, Shegerian and Brady open the floor to discussions about the environment and what businesses and individuals can do each day to live lives that follow the major tenets of sustainability – people, planet and profits.

“Were very excited to see our labor of love grow and evolve,” said Shegerian. “Now that we’re on FM and our show is twice as long we can feature twice as many guests and make twice the impact! It’s a rewarding and humbling experience to be hosting such a broad array of innovative and high-profile green guests from all walks of life. We know our conversations can inspire those who hear our show to join us in becoming a part of the solution, accepting that Green is indeed good and that everyone has an opportunity to meet environmental challenges head on.”
