John Shegerian, Chairman and CEO of Electronic Recyclers International (ERI), the nation’s leading recycler of electronics and e-waste, participated in the keynote panel at the Second International Electronics Recycling Conference & Expo (IERCE) today in San Francisco at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.

Alongside fellow panelists Dave Thompson, Director of Environmental Affairs at Panasonic Corporation and President of MRM Recycling; and Jerry Powell, Publisher of Resource Recycling Group, Shegerian shared his insights on urban mining opportunities for the presentation, titled “The state and future of electronics waste management in the United States.”

In addition, ERI’s Chief Compliance Officer and co-founder, Aaron Blum will take to the event podium tomorrow to discuss overcoming the challenges of operating an e-waste recycling facility in multiple states due to different laws and regulations throughout the United States for the panel titled “Private Equity Funding for the Electronics Waste management Industry.”

The IERCE has fast become the premier networking and learning platform attended by IT asset managers, recycling executives, electronics resellers, manufacturers and other stakeholders in the fast growing multi-billion dollar e-waste management industry.

“It is such an honor to have both John and Aaron from ERI share their insights and expertise with us here this week,” said Ismail Oyekan, President and Program Director of the International Electronics Recycling Expo. “Our event is designed to bring together leading experts in an ideal platform to learn new market trends and exchange best practice ideas. ERI is the genuine leader in the field and its involvement proving us with industry leading speakers at our event has helped to educate our core audience of electronics recyclers from North and South America, Europe and other parts of the globe.”

The two-day Expo also included 20 additional information sessions presented by industry leaders, a trade-show with more than 70 exhibitors, a golf tournament and an awards ceremony honoring Sprint and Creative Recycling Systems, plus a special “Recycling Resource of the Year” Award honoring ERI’s 1-800-Recycling.
