John Shegerian, Chairman and CEO of Electronic Recyclers International (ERI), the nation’s leading recycler of electronic waste, shared his thoughts on the status of sustainable and green business practices yesterday with a room full of sustainable business leaders at the San Francisco EcoTuesday Event at The Box SF.

Shegerian urged the group of to “continue to embrace your green DNA” and understand that environmental responsibility in business is not a trend, but a paradigm shift that has occurred and is here to stay. Shegerian fielded questions from the audience and also spoke of the global environmental problems caused by e-waste and explained the long-range international importance of properly recycling electronics.

EcoTuesday is a unique, structured, monthly networking event for sustainable business leaders held concurrently in nine cities across the country.

“It’s an honor to have been asked to present the keynote presentation for EcoTuesday’s San Francisco event,” said Shegerian. “It is particularly rewarding to meet with a group that is already so passionate about sustainability and green business practices. I hope the takeaway from today’s meeting is that the ‘Green Revolution’ is here to stay – permanently. We are merely in the first inning and there is much more to be done and explored.”
