Electronic Recyclers International (ERI), the nation’s leading recycler of electronic waste, announced today that Katie Reilly has been named Program Director of E-Waste Legislation. Reilly most recently served as Program Director of the Indiana E-Waste Program.

“We are extremely proud and excited to be adding Katie to our team here at ERI,” said John Shegerian, Chairman and CEO of ERI. “Anyone who has followed what Katie has done in Indiana knows what a rock star she is in the world of e-waste legislation. Indiana’s loss is the national e-waste recycling effort’s gain, as she is truly one of the brightest shining young talents in our industry. That she could have gone to work for anyone, but chose the national industry leader in ERI is in itself something we are very proud of. We are confident that her skills and knowledge will be among the many assets she brings to this working relationship.” For her new position at ERI, Reilly will be in charge of tracking and monitoring all e-waste legislation in the US. She will work to ensure that ERI and its network of collectors, manufacturers, and retailers are compliant with all e-waste programs relevant to each state.

As the Program Director of the Indiana E-Waste Program, Reilly was responsible for overseeing all aspects of the statewide effort and took the program from new legislation to a fully functioning infrastructure designed to recycle over 22 million pounds of e-waste in the first year.

She received her Master of Public Affairs in Environmental Policy and Natural Resource Management from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.
