Electronic Recyclers International (ERI), the nation’s leading recycler of electronic waste, announced today that it is featured as the cover story for the premiere print issue of Electronic Waste Journal. Electronic Waste Journal is the leading online source for information about the booming electronic waste industry.

A photograph of ERI CEO and Chairman John Shegerian atop a mountain of electronic waste alongside several of his executive staff adorns the cover of the new print magazine spin-off of the digital publication that is already the leading online source for information about the booming electronic waste management industry.

Electronic Waste Journal online currently has over 25,000 active readers including asset managers, asset recovery specialist, environmental groups, electronics manufacturers and recyclers who visit the site several times a week to remain updated with industry related events, industry profiles, and interviews with organizations and leaders in electronic waste.

“It’s an honor and a privilege to have been featured in the pages and on the cover of Electronic Waste Journal,” said Shegerian. “The planet’s enormous glut of elctronic waste is a problem, but it also poses tremendous opportunities for organizations willing to effectively collect and recycle these materials the right way. As more businesses continue to get in touch with their green DNA, as well as the promise of urban mining, we believe our relatively young industry will continue to have a sustainable impact. I’m sure Electronic Waste Journal will be there at the front lines, chronicling the many innovations, successes and global opportunities of our industry.”

Shegerian coined the term “urban miners” to describe the electronic recycling industry and its ability to tap into the rich collection of resources within discarded electronic items.

“As we planned for the launch of our first print edition,” said Ismail Oyekan, Electronic Waste Journal’s publisher, “it made perfect sense to feature the leading solution in electronic waste recycling, Electronic Recyclers International. ERI has also created the best social media platform in our industry. Through both their use of online and offline technological innovations, they are single-handedly democratizing the recycling process across the world. I’m sure they will be appearing in our pages many times in the future as well, as we aim to cover all the key success stories, innovations and breakthroughs of this dynamic young growth industry.”
