Ron Buckhammer, a Recycling Specialist for Electronic Recyclers International (ERI), the nation’s leading recycler of electronic waste, was among the panelists of two different group discussions on the state of the electronics recycling industry yesterday and today at the 2011 EI Digest Gathering, organized by the EnviroBiz Group and held at the Kona Kai Resort in San Diego.

The goal of the EI Digest Gathering is to stimulate creative thinking about the additional potential strategic roles that the resource recovery and waste management services could provide to help maintain the sustainability of North America. It is also designed to facilitate the exchange of information and perspective on various key business topics between companies offering hazardous, special, and universal resource/waste services while providing a venue for executives to renew existing business relationships and establish new ones.

Yesterday’s panel discussion, “Resource Recovery State Regulatory & Other Trends” featured ERI’s Buckhammer and several other industry experts discussing the latest legislative trends and various state initiatives. In today’s panel, titled “Resource Recovery Partnerships – Challenges & Successes,” Buckhammer and seven other industry experts shared their perspectives on the pros and cons of recyclers partnering with original manufacturers, retailers, charities, and others for resource recovery efforts.

“ERI is honored to have our own Ron Buckhammer participate in two such prestigious panels,” said John Shegerian, ERI’s Chairman and CEO. “It’s with great pride that we were able to have Ron share ERI’s unique perspectives on sustainability and innovation with other heavy hitters in the world of waste recycling.”
