Electronic Recyclers International (ERI), the nation’s leading recycler of electronic waste, will participate tomorrow in a panel titled “the Role of Business Building a Sustainable Economy” for the Good Jobs, Green Jobs Conference, staged by the Blue Green Alliance Foundation at the Hyatt Regency in Atlanta.

ERI Regional Sales Director and recycling expert, Matt McLaughlin will be joined in the panel discussion by Frank Knapp, President of the South Carolina Small Business Chamber of Commerce, Richard Eidlin, Policy Director for the American Sustainable Business Council, and Ovie Mughelli, green advocate and Fullback for the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons.

The panelists will serve to represent some of the new and powerful voices emerging within America’s business community willing to advocate for sustainable and progressive policies. These ‘triple bottom line’ companies, business associations and high profile individuals are educating policymakers and the media how sustainability is good for business, the economy and society at large. From clean energy to domestic manufacturing and recycling, business leaders are supporting sustainable economic policies. This session will feature business leaders actively engaged in the policy process at the federal, state and municipal level. The panelists look forward to a lively discussion about how businesses can support laws and regulations that create new market opportunities and jobs while accounting for social and environmental impacts.

Now in its fifth year, the Good Jobs, Green Jobs Conference will hold four regional conferences throughout the country in 2012. These Regional Conferences — in Atlanta, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and Detroit — provide a unique opportunity for green businesses to meet like-minded people and build coalitions that will move us forward to a cleaner, greener and more prosperous economy.

The Blue Green Alliance Foundation is a non-profit, 501 (c)(3) organization that conducts research and educates the public and media about solutions to environmental challenges that create economic opportunities for the American people.

“We’re honored to have Matt represent us at this terrific event, alongside our friends from the ASBC, the NFL and SBCC of South Carolina,” said ERI Chairman and CEO John Shegerian. “I applaud the Blue Green Alliance and its efforts to bring together experienced trailblazers in green industry to help share ideas and success stories that will help stimulate our economy and job creation via growing sustainable industry concepts. The ‘Green Revolution’ is definitely here to stay — permanently. We are proud to be a part of this vital and game changing movement and to be able to share our own experiences with likeminded businesses and professionals.”
