Four local businesses received awards today during the 2012 Valley Business Conference in Fresno presented by the Greater Fresno Area Chamber of Commerce.

In addition, Dr. Pete Mehas, former Fresno County Superintendent of Scools, received the annual Leon S Peters award.

The four businesses honored during the event at the Fresno Convention Center run the gamut from high-school age startups to one of the region’s most high-profile companies.

In the category of “High School Entrepreneur of the Year,” the award went to Fernando Luna of Fernando’s Mobile Bicycle Service. “College Entrepreneur of the Year” went to Pronovost Technology Corp. and owner Mike Pronovost.

“Rising Star Entrepreneur of the Year”went to Flavia Takahashi-Flores of P*DE*Q, LLC. The “Harold Zinkin Entrepreneur of the Year” nod went to John Shegerian with Electronic recyclers International.
