Samsung and ERI Team with Broomfield to Recycle E-Waste – at No Charge to Consumers

Partnering with Samsung and Electronic Recyclers International (ERI), the City and County of Broomfield staged a special E-Waste Collection Event this past Saturday at no charge to consumers.

ERI, the largest recycler of electronic waste in the nation, will safely recycle all e-waste collected at this weekend’s special event serving the residents of the County and City of Broomfield. The event was designed to give the community at large an opportunity to safely unload their old computers, television sets and other out-dated, unusable or unwanted consumer electronic items for proper recycling that is safe and environmentally sound. Samsung worked with ERI to sponsor the e-waste takeback event and encouraged participating residents to sign up for the Energy Star Pledge.

Recognizing the company’s green efforts, Broomfield County officials praised Samsung’s environmental leadership and its efforts promoting ENERGY STAR.

“With their collaborative support and proactive actions in Broomfield – and across the U.S.,” said Shirley Garcia, Environmental Services Coordinator for the City and County of Broomfield, “Samsung continues to recognize the significance of being a formative leader in the electronic profession by being responsible recyclers of electronic waste and stewards of the environment.”

“It’s good to once again be partnering with Samsung for this special takeback program,” said John Shegerian, Chairman and CEO of ERI. “Samsung is an organization that has been forward-thinking in terms of environmental concerns. This electronic recycling event is a further example of that commitment. We are proud to have once again, alongside Samsung, been able to help the good people of Broomfield become more environmentally responsible by offering them a convenient opportunity to safely dispose of their old electronic devices at the same time.”
