Home appliance and consumer electronics leader LG Electronics USA and ERI, the nation’s leading (and only truly circular) recycler of electronics and ITAD services provider, are teaming up this Earth Day (April 22) to provide a convenient way to responsibly recycle unwanted consumer electronics. Special free e-waste collection events for local communities will be held at LG locations across the country. ERI will collect all unwanted electronics for responsible recycling and refurbishment.

All participants of this e-waste recycling drive will be eligible to receive a coupon code for LG.com giving an extra 10% off of the pre-tax sale price of ENERGY STAR certified LG appliances, TVs and monitors as well as other popular LG products.

All types of residential electronic items will be collected at both events, including computer equipment, televisions, mobile devices and other electronics that contain batteries or electrical cords (with the exception of large household appliances). ERI, a carbon neutral e-waste recycler and ITAD company with circular services as its mission and goal, observes all e-Stewards, R2, NAID and SOC 2 Type I and II procedures and guidelines to responsibly recycle and securely destroy personal data on all electronic items.

LG Electronics Inc. is the world’s first “Global e-Stewards Enterprise.” The e-Stewards standard, developed by the Basel Action Network, is the world’s most rigorous certification program for electronics recyclers such as ERI. It prevents the export and dumping of toxic electronic waste in developing countries and calls for safeguards to protect private data and ensure that recycling plant workers are not exposed to toxic materials.

“It is an honor to team with our friends at LG to celebrate Earth Day and bring responsible recycling of electronics to communities across the country,” said John Shegerian, Chairman and CEO of ERI. “The work we will be doing on Earth Day at all these LG locations this year is part of our circular mission. We will prevent unwanted electronics from ending up in landfills, while providing a convenient way for people to de-clutter!”
