Quick Summary
Texas has two different programs governed by two separate pieces of legislation. The first is the Computer Equipment Recycling Program for computer equipment manufacturers. Manufacturers of computer equipment are required to implement a takeback program for Texas consumers (households) to take back their own brand labeled computer equipment. The second program is the Television Equipment Recycling Program for television manufacturers which requires manufacturers of covered television equipment (CTE) to implement a recovery plan to collect, reuse and recycle CTE and recycle a market share allocation of televisions within Texas.
